Mujeeb Zadran received his 3rd man of the match award in ODI format. He now holds the record for most number of man of the match awards before turning 17 in ODI cricket. Shahid Afridi received two man of the match awards before turning 17. No player other than Mujeeb and Afridi had match awards before turning 17 in International cricket.

Karachi Kings beat Multan Sultans and move onto the number second spot in the points table. It was a clinical performance by the Kings today - with the bat as well as the ball. Having posted their highest ever total in PSL history, they managed to put the Sultans on the back foot at the halfway stage itself. Sanga and Shehzad got the newcomers in PSL off to a good start but after that opening stand, there was nothing to cheer about. Shahid Afridi bowled a gem of a spell and choked the opposition with his brilliant figures of 4-1-18-3. If not the bat, he'll win you matches with the ball - such a match winner.

That's a commendable batting effort by Karachi Kings, quite similar to Islamabad United's batting effort yesterday. On the back of Joe Denly's brilliant knock of 78, Karachi Kings have managed to post a massive score. Later it was the opener's partnership alongside Babar Azam that laid the foundation for the Kings. Colin Ingram's blitzkrieg of 29*(8) that included 4 massive sixes was the icing on the cake. Apart from Mohammad Irfan, none of the Multan bowlers were spared today. Chasing 189 especially against a bowling unit that consists of bowlers like Amir, Afridi and Imad wouldn't be easy at all. His batting might have cost Pakistan a few games while winning with the same play and remained as an entertainer during his 20-year career. Afridi was more than a handy player with the ball as he featured in many games as a specialist spinner and fulfilled his role with match-winning spells.

 Shahid Afridi is only next to Jacques Kallis to score 10000 runs and take 500 wickets in International cricket. He aggregated 11185 runs and picked 540 wickets across the three formats.Afridi is also one of the two players to score 5000 runs and take 300 wickets in the ODI cricket. He scored 8064 runs and took 395 wickets in the ODI format. Afridi was the first among the three players who scored 1000 runs and took 50 wickets in the T20I format so far. Too good for the second night running have been the Karachi Kings. They first recovered from a faltering start to post 159, a score that was well above par. But then they came out and bowled far too well for the Lahore Qalandars, whose keep-going T20 approach hasn't worked in the slower pitches of Dubai. Karachi continue to hold their spot at the top of the standings, with three wins in three games. Lahore are on the other end of that spectrum, with plenty of work to do after losing three in three.

Shahid Afridi (3 for 19) and Usman Khan (3 for 26) put on fine bowling performances as Karachi Kings overcame Lahore Qalandars to record their third successive victory in PSL 2018. The troika of Tymal Mills, Mohammad Irfan Jnr and Imad Wasim chipped in with wickets too as Qalandars failed to make use of the start that Brendon McCullum gave them in chase. The 27-run loss was Qalandars' third on the bounce.

Despite Sunil Narine's second-ball exit, Qalandars were flying in chase through a blazing stand between McCullum and Fakhar Zaman that fetched them 69 runs in the 38 balls following the fall of the first wicket. However, once Afridi broke the stand by dismissing Zaman, there was a brief procession. Qalandars went from 70 for 1 to 91 for 5 in the space of 22 balls.

Lahore lost their last 6 wickets for 51 runs and that sums up the story for them. They are yet to open their account in this edition of Pakistan Super League. On the contrary, Karachi's juggernaut rolls on making it three in three games. Barring Brendon McCullum, none of the batsmen for Lahore got going and the outcome is a 27-run defeat. You could say they were in the hunt slightly when Denesh Ramdin and Agha Salman orchestrated a mini-stand but then couldn't handle the scoreboard pressure and eventually fell apart in the end. Bopara fifty guides Karachi Kings post 159

A great start by the bowlers as they strangled the runs in the first fifteen overs and took regular wickets. But then, out came the carnage, courtesy Ravi Bopara and some help from the lacklustre bowling and fielding that allowed 64 runs off the last five overs. This has been the issue with the Qalandars, even with their batting. Starting well and then giving it away. Last match, they scored 60 in their first 5 and 59 in the last 15. This time it is the bowling that has failed to finish the job. The Kings' bowling is tight as well, and if the Qalandars are to get on the board tonight, Baz holds the key with the bat. As for the Kings, they'll be happy with the total and they certainly have the bowling to defend it.
