Multan Sultans occupied the top spot in the Pakistan Super League table after a 19-run win over Peshawar Zalmi. After Sohaib Maqsood's unbeaten 85, Sohail Tanvir and Kieron Pollard's three-wicket hauls helped restrict Peshawar to 164 for 8 in a chase of 184, to pick up two crucial points at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (March 6).
Opting to bowl, Peshawar couldn't make early inroads as the Multan openers added 51 for the opening wicket before Kumar Sangakkara fell. After having kept the openers quiet for the first three overs with just 16 coming off them, Hasan Ali's opening over was taken for 15, but yet, they only managed 41 within the powerplay.Maqsood collaborated with Ahmed Shehzad who took his time to get going, yet held his end ably. While Shehzad scored a run-a-ball 37, Maqsood started off slowly himself with 16 off 15 until a Sameen Gul over where he let loose to pick up 17 runs with a six and two fours.
